The problem with a “Case by case basis” on age of consent is that it creates situations where you don’t have anyway to know ahead of time if you’re going to go to jail for fucking a 15 year old or not. It removes objectivity from it. I guess this could be solved by having a little “legal adult” stamp on an ID card or something, but this is an imperfect solution.

I guess I support an age of consent as a matter of practicality; of course different people mature at different ages.

PS: I agree on principle with the case-by-case basis for sexual consent, but my problem is that it would get rather complicated and create a lot of confusion and stuff, the age-of-consent isn’t ideal but it’s a lot less confusing, everybody knows that if you have sex with a 15 year old you are in danger of jail.

i know what you mean but i don’t think that after 5 or so years of taking away the age of consent, when people realize its no big deal when a 15 year old and a 18 year have sex, then there wouldn’t be that many reports of molestation that were not genuine… its also a lot easier to lock anyone up who is suspected of murder, just in case. usually they are given a fair trial first.

Actually, with cigars, you still get nicotine as it’s absorbed through the porous membranes in your mouth and sinuses. Of course, cigarettes are a quicker way to do so by inhaling (which I do), but to me, taste is more important than just the nicotine. Here is an easy way to tell if someone believes in natural rights or civil rights, ask them if they believe that respect is given, or if respect is earned, I personally believe that respect is given until there is a reason not to, whereas I’ve noticed a lot of people think it should be earned. I have two favorite forms of Democracy; Ancient Greek Democracy and Pirate Democracy. In Pirate democracy, the reign of the Captain lasts untill the next mutiny. I didn’t even wish my mom a Happy Mothers Day or anything and I feel really bad about it, it’s just awkward because of the hell I went thru with her earlier in my teen years.
